Making someone else eat
Jun 30 2009, 3:07 PM EDT | Post edited: Jun 30 2009, 3:07 PM EDT
Have you ever forced anyone else to eat just to make yourself feel better? I do this with my my boyfriend all the time. We live together, so I constantly fill the fridge with junk food and force him to eat as soon as he gets home from work or gets up in the morning. And when he doesn't eat, I get hysterical and feel stupid afterwards. Does anyone else do this?
It just feels so comforting watching someone else eat when you're not, makes me feel stronger.

i do this way too often. i'll bake cookies and give them to people. or watch food network. i dont get too bad but i do freak out when my brothers wont eat what i served them. i love watching people eat what they think is pretty healthy like a salad but soaked in something unhealthy like dressing. and then they talk about how healthy they are eating. or i love watching people eat after they say they are trying to loose weight. even if they do eat healthy it makes you think you'll loose more weight than them. haha. i sound like a horrible person. It DO feels like you're losing weight just watching others eat! I followed a friend to the supermarket today, and I just looked at all the food in the store and felt repulsed. And I also forced him to buy ice cream and cheese. It's crazy, but I enjoy it. Do you find this valuable?

Haha, that's nice. Yesterday I was out having drinks and dinner with some people from work - and they all ate, exept for me. I felt super strong. Do you find this valuable?

i never really force people to eat, but subtly persuade them by saying things like "well, just treat yourself" when they can't decide whether to eat someting. and if i'm with friends i'll never eat something unless they're eating the same thing. there's nothing better than watching someone eat something mega unhealthy and fattening when you're eating a piece of fruit or something, love it!!!!! I am like the number one guilty offender of forcing people to eat! It's so sad I hate it, but it's part of my job (I'm a nurse) and I'm afraid if I don't make my patients eat then my coworkers(that don't know) will find out and cause major issues! Do you find this valuable?

I like stay away from food, but I like when my kids eating....healthy of course, sometimes I let them have some naughty snack.
It is a good feeling when You can stay without this things which everybody have. For me now, it is not that strong feeling like before because they are used to that I am not joining them. Much more stronger is shame if I have some of this crap food....because they going to be so surprised.

Until your kids realize the "naughty" snacks are normal food and they end up just like the rest of us! Good luck with that! Kids are kids, let them be...if you don't like food that's fine, but don't control how your kids eat!
